I chose China because I've always like their clothes, I loved learning about in in elementary school, its where I learned to use chopsticks!

I'm sorry, I had to do it LOL I think this is hilarious!!! You can just imagine what they are saying!!
I really like their music also. This next site is VERY visually stimulating and calming!!! ENJOY!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF-r2WgCBQw

I just had to show this video because we were talking about it in class this morning. The Aborigines are said to have been HIGHLY offended. They said the painting on the clothing looked like a three year old did it, and they are very upset about the depiction of their culture.

I've really enjoyed this class, and seeing all my friends and sharing our thoughts, I hope we keep in touch this way. Thanks Dr V!! This is just a little something extra to make you all smile hopefully!

  1. Yeah, I really liked the traditional dance video. The music is very soothing and the dance itself is just mind boggling. I know that today in class we talking about Marching Band in conjunction with the Korean Fan Dance, but that dance is just insane with how much they have to be in tune with each other.

  2. I can definitely see why they were offended by the ice skating, but I did like it. I'm sure they didn't mean to offend anyone. I thought it was intereseting because it seemed to liven up the figure skating routines and the costumes and music were great.

  3. I couldn't figure out how to work the Tiger woods video but i bet it was really funny. The Chinese video was really awesome. I didn't even there was people behind the first girl. Once the arms started coming out from behind her I was shocked. The video was awesome. It was very relaxing. I loved the aborigian figure skating video. I can't believe they got offended. Everyone gets offended now-a-days.Krystal, I have no idea what the last video is even about but its really awesome.

  5. The Chinese music and dance was stunning! I have never seen anything quite like it. I thought that they were using mirrors at first. The music was beautiful and calming. I'm getting a new appreciation for traditional Chinese music. I thought that the paintings on the ice skaters were horrible! I can see how Aborigines could take offense at that. Enjoyed the Hampster dance, too.

  6. I think the clothes are pretty too. I'm very attracted to silky/satiny fabrics. I found the adoption of Chinese clothing (I believe) by Koreans interesting.

Who knows what they are saying in the video. It's weird enough that we're wrapped up in the lives of our celebrities, but it's amusing that China is too!

This will sound naive, but I'm surprised that the aborigines saw this video. I did not enjoy this figure skating. Although it's good to embrace many cultures, I think that this would have benefitted from more research.

  7. Wow! That video of the Chinese dance was amazing! I amount of precision and discipline was amazing. This is the same level of excellence that we saw at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics. I would love to visit China someday and see these things in person.

I had seen the ice skating video before and wasn't impressed then, either. 'Nuff said.

And the Hamster Dance video. I remember when the very first Hamster Dance came out and we were all passing around floppy disks with it on them. Of course, I also remember when Alvin and the Chipmunks came out and I used to have a 45 of Alvin's harmonica song. 'Nuff said there, too! Although I did enjoy this throughly.
